At its very heart, Crust is about pie. Not just the actual pies (because we make other stuff too), but the feeling you get when you eat really good pie! All of our recipes tie back to a flavor that is rooted in nostalgia. Our goal, is to not just taste, but feel the love we put into every dessert and by the looks on clients faces, we’ve done our job.
Stephanie Jayne is a classicaly trained Pastry Chef. After attending Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, Stephanie interned in the kitchens of the world famous Laduree in Paris. She then worked under Chef Ludo Lefebvre of The Taste as a Pastry Chef in LA. Crust was born in 2010 in Los Angeles and is now very excited to be based in San Diego.

Our Apple Pie is the epitomy of the American classic. The crust is perfectly flakey and the apples are just sweet enough, so that they actually taste like apples! It's like Jane Austen said, apple pie is essential part of our warm memories of holidays, home and family and it's not just any apple pie that can embody that. Our crust is never put through a mechanical dough sheeter and our apples are peeled, sliced and cooked by hand. This is the apple pie. We’ve even got the Blue Ribbons to prove it! The Crust Classic Apple Pie won Best Fruit Pie and Best in Show out of 240 pies at the Good Food Pie Contest in Los Angeles.
